My Democrat Friends were Right

I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong. My liberal buddies had it right. I'll man up and admit it.
(I can't take credit for this, it was emailed to me. But it's sooo true)

Sad but true, I was a fool:

Dang ... I hate to admit it, but my liberal friends were right!

They had warned me that if I voted for McCain, the nation's Hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence index since the election, reaching a lower point than at any time during the Bush administration.

They warned me that if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East, and sure enough, thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.

They warned me that if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get even worse and sure enough, unemployment is approaching 10% and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since 9-11.

They warned me that if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud.

They warned me that if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal government spending and sure enough, over 9,000 "earmark Pork Bills" showed up in the bailout in the past few weeks ... several hundred billions for the politicians and lobbyists's pet projects ... and to buy more power and votes.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more deficit spending in DC and sure enough, Pelosi, Reid, Barney, ad infinitum and some worthless Republicans have spent more in 30 days "than all other Presidents together" in the history of theUSA....

I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain/Palin.

Damned if they weren't right ... and I still hate to admit it, but all of their predictions have come true.

Obama speechwriter Defects and supports McCain

I think this is the biggest example of liberal media bias I've seen this election. And that says a lot. Wendy Button, former Democrat and speechwriter for Edwards, Clinton, and Obama decided enough is enough and she can't do it anymore.

Every day I learn something new that makes me lose more faith in this country.
The media has such an influence on our children but they select what they tell them. It's just getting worse.

General Colin Powell and Obama

General Powell has endorsed Obama. This cannot possibly come as a surprise to anybody, just not for the reasons Limbaugh is saying. Gen. Powell has always been staunchly pro-abortion as well as pro-affirmative action. It is not possible for him to honestly endorse a candidate that has views completely opposite of his own. It is not completely racially motivated. Although General Powell is quoted as saying he recognizes the racial component of his decision, that it wasn't the most important reason for his endorsement.

All that being said, General Powell served our country honorably for many years. For that alone, he deserves our utmost respect. I caution my fellow conservatives out there to remember that. I despise it when the left belittles and/or outright scorns McCain's service. It isn't right, it isn't just, and it is downright unpatriotic to do so to either Powell or McCain.

While out having a beer at the local pub, I couldn't help but overhear a conversation among some "progressives". I was the only conservative in the bar and certainly the only republican. I held my tongue for most of the hour or so that I was there. Listening to such idiotic banter may have been detrimental to my mental health. You can just imagine what they were talking about. Bush is responsible for everything from A.I.D.S. to Hurricane Ike. They went further with their tinfoil hattery and said that McCain is secretly going to be Bush's puppet while president. Even through this mindless shit, did I stay my tongue. When they started with the whole we gotta vote for the guy that will do something for us is when I felt compelled to interject. I asked them what happened to J.F.K.'s ideal of asking not what your country can do for you but to ask what you can do for your country? Are you ready for it? The response was that the republican party is controlled by the rich and is keeping the average man down. That ever since Nixon, the military industrial complex has controlled everything, including their wages and that's why they can't get ahead. Well, boy howdy, did I throw a rock at a hornet's nest then. I called bullshit. I asked how many of them went to college to better their job options. I asked how many of them work 2 or 3 jobs if their primary job isn't getting it done. I then asked how many poor people ever gave them a job. I asked how much of raise they can expect when Obama taxes the crap out of companies. I asked how many new jobs and positions will be created when the cost of doing business skyrockets. I asked how many companies would just move off shore to avoid crippling taxes. as you can imagine they became upset. Fortunately, I am a big guy with a reputation for being more than willing to "defend" myself so no violence broke out. I am hoping they were upset from hearing the truth. The fact is, I was more upset than they were. Why you ask? Because we let people that fooking stupid vote!!!

John McCain picks Gov. Sarah Palin for VP

In a move sure to make Steve Corbett soil his pants, John McCain has picked Alaska's governor as his running mate. It marks the first time a republican has chosen a woman for this. While she is not the person I hoped he would pick I applaud the selection. This will definitely bring quite a few of Hillary's supporters to the voting booth for Big Mac.

Why I love Biden as the dem veep choice

I love it because it virtually guarantees a republican win. He is a loose cannon that is on record everywhere stating that Obomber is not fit to be president. He has publicly stated all the reasons I have written that Obomber would be an abomination as a president. Feel free to google Biden on Obomber, I think you'll laugh your arse off.

I truly hope McCain brings out his maverick side with his veep pick. I have already written many of the reasons democrats will vote for him, just imagine if he picks Lieberman!! I know Lieberman is a dem. but you know what? I can't think of a bad thing to write about him. I think he is a genuinely honest politician. Think about big Mac picking Alan Keyes!!!!! Holy w00t, batman. For these reasons I think it will be a mistake for mac to pick Ridge, Huck, or Romney. Those picks will not increase the crossover vote but there are many that will. That is what we need to save this nation from the certain ruin that Barack Hussein Obama will bring down on our great nation.

I am away this week but I must rant

Occasionally in this life, we all get to the point when we need to take a little time for ourselves. That time for me is this week. I made a commitment to take a few friends golfing at my club that would otherwise never have a chance to play there. By doing so, I passed up my chance to have lunch with John McCain. I would dearly have loved to be at that lunch, but in this world, all you have is your word. I gave my word and kept it as I have done for all of my adult life. Perhaps if the lefties learned what it means to be a man of your word, regardless of sacrifice, the world would be a lot better place.

We have become a nation of people with their hand out. We know longer remember J.F.K.'s words. We now, as a whole, ask what our country can do for us. I say that the tyranny of me first will destroy our nation. I say that the governmental institution of forcing our manufacturers offshore weakens us. I say that the bullshit term of "Free Trade" kills us. You see that we offer free trade to other nations and they dump(if you don't know what dump means, please stop wasting our atmosphere by breathing) their goods here. Those same countries do not allow our products to be fairly marketed.

We were once the big dog on the planet producing and shipping goods worldwide. That is what made us a superpower. I say those days are gone and going even farther. Please tell me any major purchase you want to make that is 100% American made. Did you guess Chevy, Ford, Dodge? You would be wrong. America is just about the largest consumer on the planet. What happened to the customer is always right?? Why are we letting these countries dictate our country's internal policy?? We, as a nation, should be negotiating from a position of strength. Instead, we allow third-world shit holes to become our overlords. The big question is WHY?????????????

Barry, John, please tell me why. Tell me like I'm a third grader so I understand. Tell all of us why you are letting this happen. Kanjo, you piece of dog puke, why? Carney, you ultimate lap dog, why? Obama, you not sure what you are, why?

More Corbett and the Hillary for Pres. Show

The Times Leader has officially declared that there is a fork sticking out of Hillary Clinton. Whether this is good or bad news depends entirely upon your perspective. If she really is done, I think old Mac is doing cartwheels. In my not so humble opinion, she was the stronger of the two Dem. choices. How that could be so, is the question. There isn't a nickel's worth of difference between Hillary and Barry regarding their relative positions on socialized medicine, the war on terror, the war in Iraq, the tax the living shit out of anybody with a modicum of success. entitlement programs, etc. So why do I feel she was the stronger candidate? Simply put, I think there is a none too small segment of democrat voters that aren't quite as enlightened as the typical limousine liberal. Look right here at NEPA. Those religious, gun toting nuts that live here, overwhelmingly voted for her. Look at those same cling to their guns, religious zealots that have been calling The Hillary for President show. They claim they will either abstain or vote for McCain. Holy shit, I just came up with Corbett's new pitch Abstain or McCain!!!!!!!!

Do these people sound like they'll vote for Obama? I think not. Is this phenomena isolated in Pa? Definitely not! I think Obama will have a very difficult time getting the support he needs to win. I think if McCain was 10 years younger, Obama wouldn't have a shot in hell.
