This is completely true and it disgusts me!!!
Think about this when you go to vote - healthcare is never free - someone is paying Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous institution and for a variety of reasons: 1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963 2. Lee Harvey Oswald died there shortly after 3. Jack Ruby-who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, died there a few years later..by coincidence On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's almost 44 per day--- every day) A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women who gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants. That's 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas . According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million. The average patient in Parkland is maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital , they do. ' Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics'. That's right !!!! NINE. The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child---her previous two were also born at Parkland . Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico This time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.) 'How long has this been going on? What are the long-term affects? Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the US illegally - now she is having her own child there as well. (That's right, she's technically a US citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula. Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable. Because these women are illegal immigrants, they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification - no proof of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would reveal their annual income - an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word. Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job. Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.) There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for free treatment because they resided outside of Dallas County so the hospital is going to sue them! Illegals get it all free! But U. S citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued! How stupid is this? As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal immigrant patients are actually complaining about hospital staff not speaking Spanish . In this AP story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her. In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applic ants who speak Spanish. Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester (multicultural) requirement. ( Sorry for the length, but this needs wide circulation particularly to our 'employees' in Congress.) Remember that this is only ONE hospital is Dallas , Texas There are many more hospitals across our country that also have to deal with this.

Kevin the Pinko Lynn
If you haven't heard his show yet this week, allow me to sum it up. He has been harping on universal health care. He stated that because our life expectancy is lower than other countries that it must be due to not having socialized medicine. He bases this belief largely on Michael "America Sucks" Moore's movie Sicko. First, Mr. Pinko should remember that Moore is incapable of telling even the simplest truth. Secondly, he may want to take into account a few things; there is a segment of our population that tends to kill each other at very young ages. There is a segment of our population that kills themselves with drugs, poor diets, alcohol, etc, etc. Perhaps our life expectancy numbers are a little skewed.
He also has been portraying Dan Meuser and Pride Mobility as being the benefactors of corporate welfare because the majority of their products are paid for by Medicare. Never mind that the disabled and elderly deserve to be able to get around. The issue I take is that the pinko is all for socialized medicine except when it comes to Pride's products. Why? Because Meuser is a republican? Is it hatred for disabled and elderly people? Kevin, you can't have it both ways. Everybody that works pays into medicare, is it so wrong to ask for some benefit from that money? Is it so wrong that a local company makes products to help people and gasp, gasp, a profit doing so??

Amazing
Hyder gets an all expense paid trip to Annapolis. The sheer amount of gall our county leaders have is nothing short of amazing. I hope the papers publish what those three dorks spend on meals there. I've been to Annapolis, it aint cheap!!! Maybe Greg "ready for the" Scrapheap can explain why he is rewarding those that were caught with their hands in the cookie jar. He keeps saying they aren't criminals. I think the lawyer representing that dude from Penn state should use that as a defense. If Luzerne county officials and employees did the exact same thing as his client and it's not criminal, the state must drop the charges.

The latest speech from uber leftie Obomba
Barrack Hussein Obama gave a speech at one of his rallies last night. The gist of the speech was that his first acts as President will be. Essentially he said he would repeal the tax cuts. In his words, We will take the tax cuts back from the wealthy and give it to Americans that deserve it most, the poor. hello douche, the poor don't pay income tax, how in the holy hell can you give them a tax cut?
Then he promises to provide universal healthcare. No mention of how he is going to pay for it. A very safe bet would be that middle and upper middle class taxpayers may notice a change in their take home pay. I doubt anybody that pays for it will think it was a good change.

He talked about the usual litany of socialist ideals. Mostly the old "it isn't fair that you don't make as much as the C.E.O. of your company. It's not your fault you dropped out of high school and push a broom and the C.E.O. has numerous degrees and works two to three times as many hours as you. You deserve the same pay! How farking patently ridiculous. It is obvious this tool has never worked in the private sector. Life isn't fair and the world needs ditch diggers too, get over it. How in the world do people actually fall for this line of shit?

Guesto and Ciavarella
The formerly honorable Judge Ciavarella actually claimed in todays Times Leader that Guesto was the most qualified for the job. I say bulldookey. He certainly was the most connected man for the job. Already, other applicants have come forward, and according to their claimed credentials, are far more qualified. Come on skooch (sp?), at least have the guts to say why he really got the job.

Luzerne County, Home of the Despot
Can anyone actually believe the friggin unmitigated gall of the powers that be in the courthouse? It isn't just the commissioners but the judges too. What must Guesto have on all of them that they are willing to committ political suicide by giving him another job? Judge Ciavarella, say goodbye to being a judge. You will not be able to "skooch" your way out when it comes time for retention.
I rarely agree with anything Corbett has to say but I sincerely hope he keeps his word and continues to hammer these politicians. They say people in this county have a coal cracker mentality. I say it is time to prove them wrong. I say we vote out all incumbent county seats. I say the new administration goes through every employee's file. If they got their job through connections, so sad, too bad, you're fired!!! It is time to stop the corruption. It is time to stop the cronyism. It is time to elect leaders that not only listen to the people but actually follow the will of the people. If the new crop follows this current crop, boom, out they go. I say we repeat the process until we get good leadership in all county offices. By good, I mean moral, ethical, and honest. I think a provision of law needs to put in place that we can impeach any county officeholder and have them removed!! I think the law should state that they be replaced by the people voting not appointed by a shitheel governor.

What went wrong???
What happened to this country that I love? We live in a nation that gives more rights to criminals than we do their victims. We live in a nation where school girls wear outfits that'd make a $10 hooker blush but it is wrong to pray in school. It is now cool to burn our nations flag but illegal to display a nativity scene on state property. We live in a nation where you're expected to sue someone for your own stupidity but not expected to defend your life or property from scumbags. We live in a nation where you can expect to be rewarded for not working and are penalized for being successful. We live in a nation that says it is okay to make your living through corruption and graft but chastises you for questioning it. (okay, I really meant that for the Luzerne County Courthouse). We live in a nation where personal responsibilty is an unknown concept. I listed only a handful of issues but hope you can grasp the concept.Where did we go wrong? When did it happen? Who is responsible? WE ALL ARE!!!!
The real question is, do you want your country back? I beg your thoughts.

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH? " My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning. Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom , Spain , Bulgaria , Australia , and Poland are some of the countries listed there. The other list contains every one not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening. Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT'll GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WONT GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS. The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine ? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France . In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home . On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France or maybe China . I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany , and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mon amis. I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York. A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2 its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra thousand tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, 'darn tootin.' Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America It is time to eliminate homelessness in America . To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe yo u and we won't forget. To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic. God bless America . Thank you and good night. " If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.
The recession and my fears
I've been very busy an unable to post as often as I'd like.
Does anybody out there doubt that we are already in a recession? It has been my experience that if you want to know the health of the economy you need to talk to only two groups of people. Builders and car dealers. When their businesses are off or in trouble, it is an excellent indication of where the economy is going. For some time now, both of those industries have been way off. The reason I use this a barometer is that people tend to buy vehicles and build houses when they have money and feel secure. I know their are foolish folks living above their means doing this but I am hoping they aren't the majority. The government just notices a problem now??? Typical.
The rescue package that every politician in DC is so proud of is a crock of shit!! People will use the money to pay bills. This will not inject any hard money into the economy. The major accomplishment of this "stimulus" package will be to just add more debt to the budget.
My real fear comes from a hard core liberal becoming president and repealing the tax cuts. Granted, I have saved some serious dough from them. I have also spent a great deal of the money on home improvements and other projects that I was putting off. This is the type of spending that stimulates the economy. My hiring contractors and subsequently them paying their employees who then buy things.......... get the picture? If people like me stop spending the economy stops.
Which of the candidates in the 10th and the 11th congressional districts will do what's best ofr us and the country? That is the $64,000 question. I can guarantee you that Carney and Kanjorski will do what is absolutely the worst job possible.
I am up in the air in the 10th but am leaning toward Meuser and obviously am all for Barletta in the 11th.

Stupid Tuesday and other Things
As we watch the events of twenty plus states unfold, please remember we haven't had our say yet. Rush is bashing McCain to beat the band with Ann C. on the same page. Is this a put up job? I think it may be. Personally, I think Mitt is the man that most closely resembles my beliefs but he is trailing badly.
What I really want to talk about is the "hot button" bullshit that is being thrown about. Universal Healhtcare, really social medicine, my question is this; How do you pay for it? By the Dem's numbers there are 48 million people without health insurance in this country. That is roughly 1/6 of our population. I have a novel idea to see how many people really support it. The other 5/6 of the population pay the exact same amount for it. That's right, if it comes down to $2,000. per household (number pulled from rectum), and we all pay the same for it, let it pass. If it is another "you make more than average, you pay for it" scheme, let it die the death it deserves. To you liberals (read socialists), put your money where your mouth is. You want it, then help pay for it, regardless of what you earn.
The death peanlty; You want to know why it isn't a deterrent? It is rarely enforced. Look at George Banks as a local reference. He never denied that he is guilty. His asshole lawyers have drug it out through appeals this long( over 2 decades). Now they claim he is crazy from being on death row so long. WTF?
Fair Tax, there is no such thing in America. Very few people actually pay tax in our country. As a matter of fact, the top 20% of wage earners pay 90% of all the revenue collected by the Infernal Revenue Service. That means, for all you folks bad at math, that 80% of our population pays only 10% of the taxes collected. Don't believe me? www.irs.gov Look it up yourself. The next time you want to whine about tax cuts for the "rich" just do everyone a favor and STFU.
Illegal immigration is a joke. We don't enforce the laws we have and they all want new ones. What a friggin tragic comedy. The genie is out of the bottle, you aren't going to get it back in. The Pol that figures out a reasonable solution to this will have my unwavering support.
The 10th race; Mr. Hackett, please stop with ads about how you created thousands of jobs. You didn't, you merely supply temps for jobs that are already created. If I see that stupid ad one more time, I swear, I'll go out of my way to support Meuser. Your ad is an out and out lie, which is the last thing our party needs in this district. Please keep your ads focuused on the real issues. You are, in fact, a great businessman, leave it at that.

Meet and Greets
Last week I went to Dan Meuser's event in Kingston. While I was there primarily to hear what he and the other speakers had to say, I was also there to see how he interacted with the crowd. I was fairly impressed that he gave everybody there some quality face time and answered even the most mundane questions. It didn't matter who you were or what you do for a living, he treated everyone the same. I know I don't have the patience for that. Well done Dan. If I may make a suggestion, you may want to post on your website the events you have coming up. The only way I knew about this past one was from the invitation in the mail.
I keep checking Hackett's website to see when he is having a similiar event. So far, the only thing on there is a petition signing party at his headquarters in Dallas on February 4th, I think. If anybody knows when he is having a meet and greet, please leave a comment here. I would like to attend one of his events as well. Just not one at his HQ.

What is the difference between this guy and Hyder?
From The Times Leader
WILKES-BARRE – A former maintenance director at Penn State Wilkes-Barre waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Central Court on Thursday in connection with the misuse of a university-issued debit card for personal use.
Reese T. Smith, 46, of Stillwater, waived 234 counts of theft, 78 counts of access-device fraud and a single count of tampering with records to Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.
University police charged Smith used the debit card to purchase items totaling $17,456 from March 2001 to November 2007, according to arrest records.
Amazing, this guy, over 6 years abuses his debit card to the tune of about $3k per year and is facing 312 criminal counts. Hyder can't even find receipts for more than that from one year. Not only is Hyder not being charged with anything, he keeps his job and gets a raise. If this doesn't make steam come out of your ears, you are either brain dead or a member of the infamous Luzerne County Liberal Democrat ruling class. Have you figured out the difference between Hyder and this guy? They are both criminals but one of them has very powerful friends to protect him.
