Facing Reality
It looks like big Mac is going to win the nomination. While he obviously is not my first choice, it looks again like we must choose between the lesser of two evils. The harsh reality is that many "democrats" will not find it in themselves to vote for Obama or Clinton. If you can't figure out what I mean, please exit now. Sen. Mac gives them an easy out, after all, he is, at best, a moderate, and at worst a leftie. It gives their conscience an excuse to vote for him. Is this good for conservatives? Obviously not, but it does beat the alternative. Let's face facts, G.W.B. has, more than ever in history, galvanized people's positions. Unfortunately, he has brought the leftists together in a way that would make Gore forget about the pseudoscience of global warming. The fallout of this will be catastrophic to the upper middle class. (of which, yours truly belongs) People in my demographic have no voice. We aren't a minority or a majority. We are marginalized by the douches that be in power, we are taxed at a usury rate. The mafia has nothing on the Infernal Revenue Service!!!

Business as usual in Luzerne County
Nice vote Greg. It shows just how in touch you are with your constituents. Hyder abuses the living crap out of the system and still keeps his job. What's next? A raise? Don't worry Mr. Skrep, I'm sure all of the voters will forget about it before you have to run again. Then again, you are probably looking forward to leaving office so you can work at your bar full time.
Was Petrilla's vote motive real or was it just a contrived position? Your guess is as good as mine. As for the other members of the prison board, what a bunch of farktards. Urban's vote was a given but those other two richly deserve a kick in the nuts.

A conversation about the fall of an empire
In an e mail exchange with a friend, he wrote that he had no intention of voting this year. When I asked why he wrote "This country and both parties in Washington are Fubar. The Roman Empire is falling – Mark my words, in less than 10 years we will no longer be a power in the World. Sorry to say but true."
It really upset me that someone I've known for many years, someone I respect very much, thinks it is too late for our country. This man is intelligent, hard working, and honest. He is probably one of the nicest people I know and is among the most successful. Holding the world by the balls and still he feels this way. The truth is, I feel that way too and that belief is one of the primary reasons I rant here.
In response to what he wrote, I sent this to him"Our country has fallen on incredibly bad times. Morals and ethics no longer have a place in DC. Our political leaders from both parties are way out of touch with their constituents. They govern by public opinion taken from some asshole polling service. It still isn't too late. We need true conservatives back in power. I really and truly don't give a shit what party they come from. JUST BE CONSERVATIVE!!! We need less government, not more. And we sure as shit need less spending and lower taxes. If things stay the way they are with wide valve douche nozzles running our government, you are right. Our country will collapse under the weight of their hubris."
As I write this I can't help but think that it is not just the politicians in DC. Look at Luzerne County and the joke that is supposed to be our county government. They allow Guesto to resign so he can take another county job for even more money??? You farkin crackpot commissioners have balls bigger the planet. You are SCUM!!!!! I wouldn't piss on any of you to put you out if you were on fire. How many other cronies are you going to give a pass to? My guess is all of them. The real shame is that you'll probably get voted back in anyway. You see when people believe there is no hope for change, they give up. They vote for you because they believe it doesn't matter who they vote for. We've come to expect our political leaders to screw us blind. We no longer hold them to any standard of moral or ethical decency. This will be the fall of our country!
You need to meet the people you are going to vote for. Talk to them. Do their positions resemble what matters to you? After talking to them, go with your gut, if you think they're slimy now, they'll be worse when they're in power. All of the candidates running for office have meet and greet events, please take an hour or two of television time and actually go see them face to face. We have never needed a change for the better than we do right now.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats
A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below. She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude. She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!" "I am," replies the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me." The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat." I am," replies the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."
An interesting test with my results.

Enterpriser
Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Enterpriser typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues.
Enterprisers represent 9 percent of the American public, and 10 percent of registered voters.
Basic Description As in previous studies conducted in 1987, 1994 and 1999, this extremely partisan Republican group’s politics are driven by a belief in the free enterprise system and social values that reflect a conservative agenda. Enterprisers are also the strongest backers of an assertive foreign policy, which includes nearly unanimous support for the war in Iraq and strong support for such anti-terrorism efforts as the Patriot Act.
Defining Values Assertive on foreign policy and patriotic; anti-regulation and pro-business; very little support for government help to the poor; strong belief that individuals are responsible for their own well being. Conservative on social issues such as gay marriage, but not much more religious than the nation as a whole.
Very satisfied with personal financial situation.
Who They Are Predominantly white (91%), male (76%) and financially well-off (62% have household incomes of at least $50,000, compared with 40% nationwide). Nearly half (46%) have a college degree, and 77% are married. Nearly a quarter (23%) are themselves military veterans. Only 10% are under age 30.
Lifestyle Notes 59% report having a gun in their homes; 53% trade stocks and bonds in the stock market, and 30% are small business owners – all of which are the highest percentages among typology groups. 48% attend church weekly; 36% attend bible study or prayer group meetings.
2004 ElectionBush 92%, Kerry 1%. Bush’s most reliable supporters (just 4% of Enterprisers did not vote)
Party ID 81% Republican, 18% Independent/No Preference, 1% Democrat (98% Rep/LeanRep)
Media UseEnterprisers follow news about government and politics more closely than any other group, and exhibit the most knowledge about world affairs. The Fox News Channel is their primary source of news (46% cite it as a main source) followed by newspapers (42%) radio (31%) and the internet (26%).
Note: All descriptions and percentages are based on the national sample of adults surveyed by telephone in December. Based on your answers to the survey questions, you most closely resemble survey respondents within this group, even though you may differ significantly on one or more issues or traits.

A lot going on
Sweeney finally figured out that he had the proverbial snowball's chance and dropped out. Smart move Vinny, and remember, Zen said it would be like this!
It appears Obama Bin Racecard and Billary have kissed and made up. They also agreed to quit playing the racecard. I think that'll last a week or two and they'll be back to arguing which of them is more in tune with "plight" of African-Americans. The reality is neither have a clue what it is like to be poor or black. What they have a clue about is how to spin and say what they think will garner the support of limo-liberals, the Hollywood elite, eyc, etc, ad nauseum to raise even more money and to further the class warfare they need to keep the masses in the dark about how wealthy they really are.
It seems the shenanigans in Luzerne County won't be stopping any time soon. I truly don't get it. The power elite of the Democrat Machine are all caught with both hands in the cookie jar and still they refuse to straighten up and fly right. Listen long and hard County Officials; we are all watching, we are all disgusted. Your continuing abuse of both office and power reads like a fifth rate political intrigue novel. I'll take guess or two as to your next ingenious moves. Hmmm, next controller, Augie Piazza or Wil "Sue the City" Toole. You will do your best to intimidate Mr. Grier (sp?). You will continue to ignore the debit card debacle in hopes that it will go away. It won't. If for no other reason than avoiding another scandal, will you jerks please try to do what is in the interest of the people. If you can't do that, please be honest and do the right thing. Like that'll ever happen.
The President announces an economic stimulus package and who scampers out from his master's legs, yep, Carney. What did Mr. Lapdog have to say, he parroted Pelosi. What a complete and utter tool. The same goes for Kanjo. I cannot wait for Mayor Lou to take a buggy whip to Kanjo's arse in an election. On the bright side, our front runners for the 10TH Congressional District both had great comments about the President's plan in the paper!!! Way to go gentlemen.

I saw the ads
Having just watched Hackett's and Meuser's ads on youtube, I felt a comment or two was warranted.
Both ads were well done with a message I can certainly agree with. I feel Hackett is being a little dishonest claiming he created hundreds of jobs. He runs a temp agency. For those slow on the uptake, that means is a middleman between companies needing slots filled and people who desperately need a job. Who created the job????? The other thing I am tired of hearing from our Republican politicians is " I'm more conservative than the other guy". Chris, please drop the line "Conservative Republican for Congress". It's bad enough when our presidential candidates sound like 10 year olds bickering, we don't need that in the 10Th. That being said, I liked his message and agree with the basic sentiment.
Meuser's ad was an all around good first ad. I liked the message and agree with the basic sentiment. On a side note, he may want to tone down that smile a bit, I was nearly blinded.
Now we'll see if the "also running guys" can truly compete. I predict a lot of money is going to be spent narrowing the field. Then again, the two front runners appear to have war chests that would choke a crocodile. The best thing the also running guys can accomplish is to get out of the way. Money spent narrowing the field is a must but could probably be put to better use in the general election.

Nice Magazine Cover
A funny e mail
After studying it for many years, History all comes down to this and for those that don't know about history...... here is a condensed version.
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel.
The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2.. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed. Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement. Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided. Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat. Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, Lineman and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living. Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing. Here ends today's lesson in world history....... It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it. A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to piss them off....

Obama's Church
In his early years, he was in fact raised in the muslim faith. Anybody even thinking of voting for this cat needs to check out his current church's website. http://www.tucc.org This is from Obama's campaign website. Read what their commitments are and let me know if you can find America mentioned!! An unwavering commitment to Africa, WTF??? Hands down, if you vote for him, you are an asshat.

The Republican shambles in Luzerne County
At a time when we need to close ranks and come out in force we have the same fractious bullshit that consistantly prevents us from taking control. I read several other blogs and cannot believe that the attack dogs are already running free. The worst part of this is that the dogs are supposedly Republicans. Some of the slime that has been written is in fact total bs. I googled Pride for sexual harassment suits and found nothing. I did find the chair that caught fire lawsuit. If anybody can find a link to harassment lawsuits, please feel free to post it. As far as Hackett winning the wedding lottery and getting that business for free, again, total crap. I know Chris and the business he took over from his father in law doesn't even bear a passing resembalance to the business he runs today. He grew that to the behemoth it is today. Not his father in law!!!! As for Sweeney, he isn't even a real Republican. He switched parties fairly recently. Mr. Swiderski's bankruptcy has nothing to do with whether or not he can or should win. Nothing, nada, zero, zilch!!!! As for the other couple guys running, nobody has heard of them. They are not viable candidates.
Like it or not, to unseat Carney will take a lot of money. As I have previously stated, we realistically have only 2 guys that can raise the coin needed to get the job done. If you want to be represented by the left coast's lap dog, that's your choice. I don't. The very nature of our party in Luzerne county is to divide into cliques. I know, I've gone to party meetings. Those meetings are a joke!! The clique that runs them neither wants nor takes ideas from those outside of their insider group. Is it any wonder why we're always an also ran in this county?? Cliques are for high school folks, not for adults. When our field is finally narrowed down I hope we can pull our heads out of our collective asses long enough to win back the 10Th. Maybe, just maybe, after we accomplish that we can take back our county.

The Presidential Scene
I watched the debates this weekend. I have to say, it is the same old crap being shoveled by the same old hacks. For now I'll leave the republican side out of it and focus on the Dems. The same class warfare shit that they always trot out. Give tax cuts to the poor. I have a newsflash for those douche nozzles; THE POOR DON'T PAY INCOME TAX!!!! According to the Infernal Revenue Service's website, 90% of individual tax revenue comes from the richest 20% of Americans. For those of you that are bad at math, that means the other 80% of Americans are paying just 10% of the taxes collected. I may not be the smartest man to ever come down the pike but that seems like somebody isn't paying their share. Consider further that those who get the most back for the tax they paid (snicker), are the poor. They get help with medical, food, daycare, etc, etc. I have never had a check come to me from the government. I have never had a tax refund, I owe every year on top of what is witheld from my salary. I buy my own groceries. I pay my own medical insurance. I pay my own heat and electric bills. The only thing the government contributes to my housing is a staggering tax bill. All that being said, exactly who should get a tax cut??? I am not remotely saying that I'd rather be poor but listening to each and every dem candidate talk about reducing the poor persons tax burden makes me want to scream.
Also consider that the front runner from their side is none other than Barrack Hussein Obama. He may claim that he isn't a muslim but that name sure doesn't sound Irish Catholic to me!! Last I checked, we are fighting a war on terror. Some folks may not realize it, but the terrorists we are fighting are radical muslims. I may be wrong, but having one of them as are President scares the living shit out of me. I sincerely doubt Obama will put our country's interests above the Koran. By the way, why isn't the media publishing his full name????? I don't say these things because he is black, I mean let's face it, he's whiter than I am.
Billary's past actions and scandals alone should preclude her from any office other than dog catcher. After all, it takes one to catch one.
John Edwards made hundreds of millions suing the crap out of anyone he could. That kind of lawyering is why most people despise lawyers. He is nothing more than a modern day pirate. Who exactly would want him to be our President?
