At a time when we need to close ranks and come out in force we have the same fractious bullshit that consistantly prevents us from taking control. I read several other blogs and cannot believe that the attack dogs are already running free. The worst part of this is that the dogs are supposedly Republicans. Some of the slime that has been written is in fact total bs. I googled Pride for sexual harassment suits and found nothing. I did find the chair that caught fire lawsuit. If anybody can find a link to harassment lawsuits, please feel free to post it. As far as Hackett winning the wedding lottery and getting that business for free, again, total crap. I know Chris and the business he took over from his father in law doesn't even bear a passing resembalance to the business he runs today. He grew that to the behemoth it is today. Not his father in law!!!! As for Sweeney, he isn't even a real Republican. He switched parties fairly recently. Mr. Swiderski's bankruptcy has nothing to do with whether or not he can or should win. Nothing, nada, zero, zilch!!!! As for the other couple guys running, nobody has heard of them. They are not viable candidates.
Like it or not, to unseat Carney will take a lot of money. As I have previously stated, we realistically have only 2 guys that can raise the coin needed to get the job done. If you want to be represented by the left coast's lap dog, that's your choice. I don't. The very nature of our party in Luzerne county is to divide into cliques. I know, I've gone to party meetings. Those meetings are a joke!! The clique that runs them neither wants nor takes ideas from those outside of their insider group. Is it any wonder why we're always an also ran in this county?? Cliques are for high school folks, not for adults. When our field is finally narrowed down I hope we can pull our heads out of our collective asses long enough to win back the 10Th. Maybe, just maybe, after we accomplish that we can take back our county.

My $.02 on the 10th
As has been discussed on better blogs than this, Mr. Swiderski has had to reveal a painful event in his life. He admitted he declared bankruptcy. As a small guy myself, I have been close to bankruptcy myself. Fortunately, I was able to work my way out of it. I remember vividly the pain and humiliation I felt when I was in that stage of my life. The reality is, that in biz, sometimes you have to make very hard choices. The worse reality is that in politics, every aspect of your life is held up to scrutiny that no normal person would ever want focused on their own life. Every person on this planet has things in their past that they aren't proud of. That said, isn't it amazing that the average joe or jane revels in the misfortune of someone in the public eye? You can blame it on reality TV, but I think it speaks volumes about our society as a whole. When the sad events of another persons life are what brings you joy, you are truly a waste of space and atmosphere.
The reality is that Mr. Swiderski had very little chance of winning in the 10th as he does not have the money raising capacity of the 2 front runners. Let's face facts, to win this seat, you need major money and Meuser and Hackett have more money in their front pocket than Mr. S was likely to raise. I really don't know which of the front runners is the right man for the job and certainly won't endorse either until I see them debate. I know both of them very well and for many years. They are both intelligent, well spoken, and far and away, better set to represent our district than Pelosi's lap dog. By the way, does anybody have a pic of Carney curled up at her feet with her scratching him behind the ears???? There is a reward for that pic!!!!!!!!!!!

My First Rant
After reading ignoranceisbliss, eddytheangryrepublican, and gort42, I was inspired to write my thoughts on Luzerne County, the 10th district, and what's going wrong with our country. My hat is off to you gentlemen.
It seems the liberal media has turned on their beloved democrats with the debit card debacle. They are riding that horse until it drops. My real question is why they had so little to say about the juvie center lease. Paying over $100 million to lease a facility we could've owned for under $20 million seems like bad math to me. I wonder what possible incentive Greg and Todd may have had to enter that deal? cough, cough, graft, cough. I'm not saying they got paid off or anything but maybe somebody could tell me how Todd joined Huntsville Golf Club on a commissioner's salary? Let's see, $43k per year but managed to pay the $18,000. initiation fee and could afford the nearly$5,000 annual dues. Yeah, that makes sense. Where is Corbett the wonder boy with that story????
