Kanjorski has a turncoat pal

Today, the Times Leader ran a wonderful story from an insider in the Kanjorski-Cornerstone scam. He quoted old Kanjo as saying that he did it to take care of his family because as a Congressman, that is his privilege. He went further stating that Kanjdoucheski tried to funnel a chunk of a $1.3 million earmark to his family that was to be for an equipment deal in Plymouth. My question is, how much is enough Kanjo? How much more of our tax dollars do you feel the need to give to your family? Isn't 12-13 million enough?

Today

Today, we buried my wife's cousin. The unbelievable outpouring of public support was a sight I have never seen in my 40+ years. The number of mourners was staggering. They actually had to close every road that was involved in the procession. To all who came with the purest of intentions, THANK YOU!!!!

It is notable that many local politicos were there. To Mike Carroll, thank you. To Paul Kanjorski, thank you for coming. To the Flag Officers that made the journey, thank you. To the Patriot Guard, you are the best in my book and thank you. To Rev. F.H. (fark head) Phelps, thanks for not showing up but I really wish you would've, I hear our ER's have been quiet lately and the Doc's could've used the practice. To the general public, well done!!!!!!!!!

The war has hit close to home

I found out this morning that my wife's cousin was killed in Afghanistan. Just yesterday I wrote about my take on the war and to hear this tragic news first thing today, has taken the words from me. I hope we bomb the living shit out of the town he died in. Fuck the insurgents and anybody that looks like them.

If you don't learn from history you are doomed to repeat it

America apparently has learned nothing from history. In particular, I am referring to the Vietnam war. We tried to fight that war by appeasing public opinion and by handcuffing our military.

In WWII, we fire bombed cities, we nuked cities, we fought balls out and kicked ass. In Vietnam, we bombed empty jungles. Almost without exception we listened to public opinion and stopped from doing what was necessary to win at the expense of our soldiers. The press and public opinion will never help a soldier in battle when his commanders are more interested in the press than the soldiers.

This is exactly what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ask anybody that was there. We know where the enemy militias are based. We know where they are stowing their weapons. We know where they plan and launch their attacks from. We know what faction of the population there is supporting them. Why are we trying to fight a bare knuckle match with kid gloves on? So the press doesn't crucify us? So public opinion won't drop? Public opinion of the war is rock bottom anyway. I call on the politicians that got us there to do what is necessary to win. Change the rules of engagement. If a Mosque is being used as an enemy shelter, level it. If a town is supporting the enemy, level it. As a matter of fact, there are sections of Iraq that should be carpet bombed for a week straight before one of our soldiers even sets foot there. You want to save our soldiers lives? Take the gloves off and fight. War is not supposed to be pretty. It is not nice. People do die. Civilians will die. If you aren't willing to fight to win, get our soldiers the fark out of there.

More Corbett and the Hillary for Pres. Show

The Times Leader has officially declared that there is a fork sticking out of Hillary Clinton. Whether this is good or bad news depends entirely upon your perspective. If she really is done, I think old Mac is doing cartwheels. In my not so humble opinion, she was the stronger of the two Dem. choices. How that could be so, is the question. There isn't a nickel's worth of difference between Hillary and Barry regarding their relative positions on socialized medicine, the war on terror, the war in Iraq, the tax the living shit out of anybody with a modicum of success. entitlement programs, etc. So why do I feel she was the stronger candidate? Simply put, I think there is a none too small segment of democrat voters that aren't quite as enlightened as the typical limousine liberal. Look right here at NEPA. Those religious, gun toting nuts that live here, overwhelmingly voted for her. Look at those same cling to their guns, religious zealots that have been calling The Hillary for President show. They claim they will either abstain or vote for McCain. Holy shit, I just came up with Corbett's new pitch Abstain or McCain!!!!!!!!

Do these people sound like they'll vote for Obama? I think not. Is this phenomena isolated in Pa? Definitely not! I think Obama will have a very difficult time getting the support he needs to win. I think if McCain was 10 years younger, Obama wouldn't have a shot in hell.

Corbett's Hillary for President show and an old prediction I made

Facing Reality
It looks like big Mac is going to win the nomination. While he obviously is not my first choice, it looks again like we must choose between the lesser of two evils. The harsh reality is that many "democrats" will not find it in themselves to vote for Obama or Clinton. If you can't figure out what I mean, please exit now. Sen. Mac gives them an easy out, after all, he is, at best, a moderate, and at worst a leftie. It gives their conscience an excuse to vote for him. Is this good for conservatives? Obviously not, but it does beat the alternative. Let's face facts, G.W.B. has, more than ever in history, galvanized people's positions. Unfortunately, he has brought the leftists together in a way that would make Gore forget about the pseudoscience of global warming. The fallout of this will be catastrophic to the upper middle class. (of which, yours truly belongs) People in my demographic have no voice. We aren't a minority or a majority. We are marginalized by the douches that be in power, we are taxed at a usury rate. The mafia has nothing on the Infernal Revenue Service!!!

As you can see, I predicted exactly what would happen. call after call from his lsiteners and even the king douche lapper himself have made it clear that they are for anybody but Obama. I must be psychic!!!!!!!

Luzerne County Elected Officials Bad at Math

http://www.timesleader.com/news/20080510_10juvietimeline_jen_ART.html

Please click the link, read the article, then read this. Our cornhole commissioners actually got us into this deal. They want us all to believe that they actually thought that paying $58,000,000 over a 20 year lease made more sense than owning the facility for $8,000,000. For those that may not be as good at math as I happen to be and also for those who are as tragically bad at math like Scrapheap and former comm. Vonderhideyourwallett; The lease is essentially $2.9 million per year for twenty years. Now, had these flunkies actually ever been to a math class they could've figured out that buying for $8. million would've cost $1.92 million for 5 years had they took a 5 year loan. Yes I included generous interest in that payment. How in the holy vermilion hells can anybody think that lease was a good idea??? Nobody is this fookin stupid!!!So what explains it?? I would like a forensic accountant to look into Scrap and Todd's personal finances. Can anyone say offshore accounts? Does the name Cayman Islands ring a bell? Does this answer the question of how a $42,000 per year earning commissioner could afford to join Huntsville Golf Club? The above pic illustrates the math skills of the fecal impactions that got us into this mess for their own profit.

The unfortunate realities of politics

I spent a portion of my afternoon with Dan Meuser. I have considered Dan a friend for nigh on twenty years. That had literally no bearing on my support for him in the 10TH primary. Had his principles and morals been diametrically opposed to my own, I would've buried him in my blog. The fact is, I have always respected Dan and after today, I respect him even more. He is a man of unquestionable honor that chose the high road in a nasty campaign and was punished for it. I directly asked him why he didn't use the dirt that those of us in the know, know about Hackett. His response; " You know I'm not that kind of guy". By God, that is what I want in my Congressman. The 10TH had the opportunity to have an honorable man represent them and we blew it!!!! Many of you voters in the 10Th listened to an unmitigated load of bullshit from Hackett's hatchet men and voted for the wrong man. If any of you think I write this piece out of bitterness, you are wrong. Dan would've been the kind of leader we need in the 10TH. He would not have been some left coast liberal's lapdog like Carney. Hackett changes his opinions depending on who he is speaking to. Sadly, he is the only Republican running. Granted, he won the primary. The how he won it is what sticks in my craw. Chris, you did an incredible amount of damage to my party with your campaign. Yes, I said my party. I don't believe you are a true Republican. I know you are not a true conservative. I've known you for quite a while. I have written that the party needs to mend the fences and get behind you in the general election. I think I may have been wrong.

The Meuser family has made a huge investment in our area. They offer real living wage jobs and opportunity to make a very comfortable income. They do not play favorites based on familial connections. They promote based on merit. They are an honorable family that has done much for the valley. They did not deserve to be called criminals. They did not deserve to be called liars or murderers. For the lies that Hackett's hatchets told, we should shun them. We should not do business with them. We should treat them like the scoundrels they are. They are less than scum. They are smegma. I call on my fellow business people to show our distaste for his campaign's behavior. Rant over.

To Kar; I was wrong and am sorry.
To Gort; Thank you for the friendship and intelligent discourse.
To Rightwinger; It's been 41.5 years that we know each other, hasn't it? Let's play golf.
To my loyal readers; Sorry I didn't coin any new nouns or verbs. This one meant a lot to me.
To Dan Meuser; You, Rightwinger, Kar, and Gort42 should play golf. I hope you invite me.

Steve Corbett and other idiots

While driving home today, I heard Corbutt talking about a Philly cop getting killed in the line of duty. His whole rant was that Chinese assault rifles be banned. He never addressed Russian, U.S. Belgian, or any other rifles that I heard. First and foremost somebody should tell the king douchewaterswiller that there has never been a weapon that killed anybody of its own accord. Somebody pulled the trigger! Second, in the grand scheme of firearms, assault rifles are on the low end of the totem pole for lethality. My .300 mag will dust you off at 800 meters through your vest before you even hear the shot. He wants all assault rifles banned. I don't even currently own one but the reality is that no law abiding citizen shot the Philly officer. Two career criminals did. I have a load of weapons in my gun safe and not one of them has shot anybody. However, if somebody broke into my home I can guarantee that I would shoot them with one. The fact is, guns don't kill people, people kill people. Liberals need to learn that just about any object can be a lethal weapon. Should we ban everything that is capable of death????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Social Security

While I tend to leave this one alone, I can't help but talk about a few things now. If you are under the age of 48 as I am now, like as not, you will not see a penny from it. We pay and pay, but the reality is that people have collected far more from it than they ever paid in. While this is part of the puzzle of money management gone wrong, it isn't the only piece. There are now more people collecting it than paying into it and this ratio will only get worse. Then factor the reality is that civil unions and gay marriage will become reality. Regardless of your own personal opinion, this will in my lifetime, become reality. I want to know from our government how they intend to cover survivor's benefits when we radically increase the number of beneficiaries. How will they explain to people like me that they are sorry there is no money left? As the system is now, I truly doubt I will ever see a penny from it. Luckily (sic), I will not need it. But, I ask you fellow Americans to ask our elected politicians how they intend to remedy the problem. I have been paying just short of 10k per year into this lost refuge for literally all of my adult life. Every year I get a statement telling me how much I will get upon retirement. I say horsehockey, I know I will get nothing but I do want one of these political horse's asses to comment on the problem.
