Congratulations to Hackett

I am stunned that he actually won. I truly believe the better man for the job lost. Maybe I am wrong but I thought people were tired of negative campaigns. I guess not. Regardless of who you were for in this primary, we now need to get behind Hackett for the general election. We need this seat back. Congratulations Chris! Please turn your dogs lose on Carney now, it worked against Meuser and I really do want you to beat Carney.

I agree that the better man lost but I don't agree with supporting Hackett. He ran a nasty dirty race and he won't get the vote of me or my wife. We'll be voting for Carney since he has the seniority and he's not an ass like Hackett. Good luck Chris. You're pretty much screwed. You think Meuser was bad. Carney has tons of crap on you already.

While I can appreciate the sentiment, I can't disagree more. We need this seat back. Granted, it is the year for democrats but we must patch the rift and retake the seat. Did Hackett run a slimy campaign? yes, he did. The fact is, it won him the chance to run. Whether Carney-Pelosi has anything on him, I'll wait and see. I wil go on record as saying that this primary was the most shocking blow that I have ever felt. I am friends with both Hackett and Meuser. Long ago I went on record as being behind Meuser 100%. I cannot count high enough to tell you the amount of business that cost me. I will tell you this, if I had to make the choice all over again, I would've made the same one.

Zen,

Mistakes were made by both candidates, but now that the first round is over, the main event will be interesting as I watch from afar.

There's no way Hackett can outspend Carney because the NRCC is broke and the Dems are licking their chops at the prospect of turning a heavily red district blue.

Things can change, but plenty of halftime adjustments are needed in the Hackett locker room if he is going to pull off the upset.

Zen,
Don't hate me but I may just have to vote Dem in November just out of principle. Mr. Hackett showed his true colors in the primary and to be honest with you, I've never seen that side of Carney. Unless something really bad comes out against Carney before the general I'm going to have to vote for the guy that has the seniority and has brought money back to the 1oth.

We know each other literally all of our lives. Hell, I even converted you from the dark side. I didn't like Hackett's tactics one iota either. The sad reality is though that if Carney becomes a two termer he will be virtually impossible to ever unseat. I say we must give our votes to Hackett and then hope for a more palatable candidate when he is up for re-election.
