The war has hit close to home

I found out this morning that my wife's cousin was killed in Afghanistan. Just yesterday I wrote about my take on the war and to hear this tragic news first thing today, has taken the words from me. I hope we bomb the living shit out of the town he died in. Fuck the insurgents and anybody that looks like them.

I'm so sorry to read of your family's loss. It is
tragic that a young man with the whole world in front
of him should be taken from us.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My cousin is in Afghanistan too and I think (worry) about him everyday.

I hope you find peace in this time of tragedy.

Thank you both for your kind words.

The reality is we are trying to fight a dirty war like we are kids on a playground. We should institute a program of massive retaliation. If an I.E. fucking D. goes off in your town, too bad, so sad, Ka fucking boom, no more town. Pretty soon the natives would be stringing up the worthless motherfuckers that plant the bombs before our troops even get there.

To those that say this is too harsh, I say get fucking bent, you have that luxury. I don't, I lost a family member because our politicians insist on fighting a war like it's a playground shoving match.

I would apologize for the cursing, but this is one time when I can't say it any other way.

Sorry for your loss Z.

To join in your sentiment, it is time we start fighting a more "fair for the good guys" war. BS on the going house to house looking for terrorists. It's not fair. Again sorry.

Sorry for the loss to your family. It illustrates perfectly and tragically the cost in good quality people who could be doing more in their hometown than in some place where we were never wanted or appreciated. I always felt we should never have been there from the start, but respected and revered the young men and women who were called to duty and believed in it. That said, this is not a war. It is an assasination trap for the best and brightest of this country. A war is when you fight with rules of engagement, honor if you will. There has been nothing like that in the Mideast. This is not the anger you speak of in your reaction to the death of a family member, although I share your view. Rather, this is a strategy I've felt since 911 in this region. First, we clear out a massive area of land. Then we should give a one week warning to people in that region who want to live in peace. They can make their way to this land area and be screened by our intelligence operatives, if there are any left. Then, when the one week period is over, we carpet bomb the region, clear out the vermin, even level the places. I mean it's not as if we don't have the capability. Then we start over fresh. And if we are condemmed by the world, so what. It's abourt time we grew a set when it comes to these monsters, er, really pussies who don't have the courage to aim a gun or wield a knife. Instead the sneaky bastards blow themselves up in the name of whatever sorry ass God they believe in. When they take one DePrimo away from us, we take 30 of theirs.

You all would not believe the vast number of e mails that essentially all call me a barbarian. War is in fact barbaric. Ot shouldn't be nice and pretty. It should be disgusting in its waste of life. That is why it should remain an absolute last resort for sentient beings.

I stand by my assertion that we are trying to fight in the middle east theatre just as we did in Vietnam. Fighting by public opinion and keeping the press happy is a complete betrayal of our troops.

You should post some of the hate mail here. Nothing better to hang a fool with but their own words.
